Quick answer: Cloud2Y offers free assisted migration for customers moving to a Cloud2Y server. Order your new server, then open a support ticket titled "Migration request" describing what you want to move and how we can access the source. Our engineers copy and test your sites, and you approve the final DNS switch.
Overview
Moving hosting providers is the moment most things can go wrong — which is why we do it with you. The free migration service covers the technical transfer: copying files and databases, matching software versions, and verifying the result on your new server. You stay in control of your domain and approve the cutover. Scope and eligibility for specific setups are confirmed in the ticket, so describe your case fully and we will tell you exactly what is covered.
Before you start
- An active Cloud2Y service to migrate onto (how to order).
- Access details for the source: SSH or control panel login, or an archive/backup of your data.
- A list of sites, databases and services to move, with approximate sizes.
Step-by-step guide
- Log in to the Client Area and open Support Tickets → Open Ticket.
- Title it "Migration request" and choose the technical department.
- Include: your Cloud2Y service (hostname or IP), the source provider and access method, the list of sites/databases, and any preferred migration window.
- Our engineers confirm the plan and timing, perform the copy, and give you a way to test the result.
- After you verify everything works, switch DNS to the new server — we can guide you through it.
Common issues
- Missing source access: the most common delay — double-check the SSH/panel credentials you send.
- Undeclared services: mention cron jobs, mail and background workers up front so nothing is left behind.
- Expired source hosting: do not cancel your old provider until the migration is verified — keep an overlap period.
When to contact support
This whole process runs through a support ticket, so the answer is: immediately. If you are still comparing plans, you can also open a pre-sales ticket and we will size the target server for your workload before you order.
Frequently asked questions
Is the migration to Cloud2Y really free?
Yes. Assisted migration is included when you move to a Cloud2Y server: engineers transfer your files and databases and verify the result. Unusual setups are scoped in the ticket first.
What should I include in the migration ticket?
Your Cloud2Y service name or IP, the source provider with SSH or panel access, a list of sites and databases with sizes, and the maintenance window you prefer for the switch.
Can you migrate my site if I only have a backup archive?
Yes. If direct access to the old host is impossible, upload the archive and database dumps to your new server or attach a download link in the ticket, and we restore from that.
